Shabbat Services

On Friday evenings, a holy shalom, or peace, enters our congregation bringing a special joy and feeling of community. Congregation Beth Israel-Judea offers weekly Friday evening and Shabbat morning services.

Our services strive to create a holy space that can encourage kavannah, or the mindfulness of prayer.  Beautiful music is very important to the congregation sand our Shabbat services feature both composed tunes and chanted nusach, often with accompanied music and percussion.

For Shabbat, the congregation uses mostly home-grown siddurim, or prayerbooks, that feature Hebrew, English transliterations, English translations and meaningful additions.

The usual times for Shabbat services are:

7:30 PM for Friday evening Kabbalat Shabbat.

10:00 AM for Shabbat morning services.
