Educator Riva Jacobs

Riva Jacobs comes to BIJ with more than 20 years of teaching experience.

Shortly after receiving her Master’s degree in Jewish Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, Riva moved to the Bay Area from her native New York. Here she has continued to work in day schools, religious schools, and as a private tutor, instructing all ages from preschoolers through seniors in all Judaic subjects.

Riva also ran a small religious school in San Jose and founded and directed the Jewish Teachers’ Resource Center of the Greater South Bay. She is a member of Congregation Kol Emeth, where she currently chairs the Religious Practices Committee.

Riva has two grown sons, one living in New York City and the other at George Washington University in Washington DC. Riva’s ultimate goal as a Jewish educator is to connect every student with the wisdom and beauty of our texts and traditions.

She is thrilled to be part of the enthusiasm and energy of BIJ and is grateful for all the support she continues to receive.
