On Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend 30 people met at Salem Memorial Cemetery in Colma to honor and commemorate the services of those members who served in the Armed Forces in years past. The featured speaker at the event was Matt Gabe, Senior Vice Commander of the our BIJ-JWV post who himself only recently returned from deployment in Iraq as a JAG officer.
Presently being planned is an event that will coincide with Veteran's Night in November whereby Matt will once again join us as a featured speaker. We hope that all of you in the congregation and community will join us.
The JWV recently had their Installation Diinner whereby the new slate of officers were sworn in for the new term. Highlighted that evening was Bert Sugarman being honored for all of his years of service and devotion to the JWV.
We meet the fourth Tuesday of every month at 10:00 am at BIJ. All Veterans, combat or not, are most welcome. And all those who are not Veterans are also welcome as Associate Members. Our meetings are short and sweet followed by a Social Hour.
