The Bauer - Mutnick Post 688 of the Jewish War Veterans meets at Congregation Beth Israel-Judea and many members of the congregation are also members of the post. The group carries on a range of fund-raising and support activities for Jewish veterans and for Israel Defense Force troops.
For example, the annual BBQ is held in July at the Menlo Park Veterans Administration Hospital. Over 175 veterans, family and staff are catered to by Post 688. For the annual Chanukah concert event at the Jewish Home in San Francisco is well appreciated. Musicians provide entertainment and cake is served to the guests and staff.
The group hosts the yearly Veteran's Day service at Congregation Beth Israel-Judea, and also holds regular commemorations at the Salem Cemetery, where the Post donated a flag pole and memorial.
